ATTENTION ALL CAPTAINS:

The boating season is winding down and we are working hard to get prepared for haul-out season.  Now is the time to make your to do list for your dock and your boat.  Make sure you have made arrangements for storing all your personal belongings prior to the marina pulling docks out of the water.  Also, make sure you have talked to the office about storage for your boat and next year’s dock.  Now is the time to schedule your haul-out with the service department.  We will do our best to accommodate your schedule.  The earlier you talk to us, the easier it is to schedule you. 

The Progressive Dock Party is Sunday, September 6.  The festivities will begin at 4:00 PM in the Dock 114 – 118 area.  The 100 docks will be hosting our appetizer portion of the progressive meal along with any specialty drinks they would like to share. 

Somewhere around 4:45 PM we will move in mass to the 200-300 docks area, specifically around the 371-376 area.  The 200 and 300 docks will be hosting the salad portion of dinner along with their specialty drinks.

I would like to thank all involved in our National Marina Day/Customer Appreciation Party.  I think it was a great success.

First, thanks Jake for letting us use the showroom to hold our party.  Inclement weather moved us inside but we had plenty of room and the place was spotless.

Girls’ Night Out is this next Saturday, July 18.  Jen, Deb and Tina have planned a night of music, karaoke, snacks and wine tasting.  They will be featuring area and island wines to taste and enjoy.  Feel free to bring your own drinks as well.  Music and karaoke will be provided by Tall Tunes.  The festivities will begin at 8:00 PM and will run until 11:00 PM.  They will also be giving away some prizes to lucky winners.  Perhaps the best feature of the evening is NO MEN ALLOWED.  Girls’ Night Out is planned for the pool pavilion and pool area.  Should weather become an issue, the party will take place in the broker’s showroom area.  Bring a friend if you wish and enjoy a night 

Summer has finally arrived and gas prices have receded a little.  It is time to enjoy your boat and the marina.  We have some great activities planned for July that we think you will enjoy.

I would like to update you on what is happening at the marina.  Memorial Day has passed and the marina has some exciting social activities on the horizon as well as some new perks available to our boaters.

Wireless internet is now available at the marina at no charge.  Currently the wireless is still listed as Air2Access.  That will be changing and will be listed under Lakefront.  The marina was able to purchase the wireless equipment from the previous provider and reach a service agreement with a new party.  The best parts of

Lakefront Marina in Port Clinton Ohio, makes way for Lake Erie Floating Homes, a planned community right in the water.  The new development was unveiled at the 2007 Cleveland Boat and Waterfront Lifestyle Expo. These cozy cottages feature 460 square feet of living space beginning at $100,000.00. The units are arranged in a circle, joined by a common floating gazebo and barbecue area. Owners will be able to dock their boats next to their homes for a nominal lease and service fee. Each home rests on a floating docking system and an aeration system will be in place to prevent surrounding water from freezing in winter.  These homes have been well received and sales are brisk. Phase I of the project is filling up quickly.  Marina owner, Bob Faflik is pleased with the reception these homes have received and believes that they are the future of lake living. Lake front property prices have escalated and the availability has decreased over the past few years. Floating homes are the affordable alternative to a lake front lifestyle.
